Advancing Reconciliation
This interactive workshop will introduce participants to the work around reconciliation that John Humphrey Centre has been doing in schools in Edmonton. Participants will have the opportunity to delve into Canada's post-contact history and take away an activity that shines a light on our shared past with regards to Indigenous Peoples.

Virtual Reality Without Technology: Simulation Activities
How can we make Social Studies more exciting for our students? For me, one solution was the use of simulation activities. They engage students by connecting their learning to the present, putting them right into the middle of the action. Using several classroom-tested grade 7 lessons as an example, I'll pass on some ideas to help you create teaching activities that your students will never forget!
